Check out the BEA webpage that talks about how natural disasters, terrorist attacks, and wars affect the economy at https://www.bea.gov/taxonomy/term/606, and write a one or two-page critical commentary about the question that most interest you there. In the introduction, make sure to briefly explain the topic as if you were talking to someone that has zero knowledge of economics. After that, summarize what the BEA does, whether you think the BEA is clear at explaining what they do. Do you see any drawbacks in their methods of measuring? Even if you do, do you have other ideas to complement or substitute their method and making it better and more accurate? Close the commentary with a brief conclusion about what you learned about the topic and why it is important. What macroeconomic policies, either fiscal, regulatory, or monetary policies, if any, could help address the question you chose, and why is it important to have reliable data to design good policy? Are there any data you would like to have that you dont have? What data would you look at to see if the policy is working?
