Read the ‘evolution of language systems’ .. and discuss this in the context of the Dunbar paper (i.e. your midterm paper)… if language is the key to what makes us uniquely human.. what does it mean that our capacity for language comes from such a modest change in our neuroscience. What does this say about the nature of communication and meaning.. and how can we understand our similarities and differences to other living things etc. -As always, your thought piece should be.. your thoughts. Summarize the material as needed but focus on your own ideas and questions when possible. Incorporate material from videos when appropriate. And so on. Be as creative as you like.
