For this assignment there is a film you must view along with a reading.
Here is the link for the Documentary Film: Egalite for All: Toussaint Louverture and the Haitian Revolution (2009): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBdlwuEoCCU

ESSAY #5 QUESTION:
After viewing the Toussaint L’Ouverture documentary and reading the four articles about the difficulty of making a movie about a historical figure like Toussaint L’Ouverture, write a pitch to Hollywood executives trying to sell them on the idea of making a movie about the Haitian Revolution. Craft your pitch using what you know about the Haitian Revolution from the documentary and what you learned about potential hurdles for such a film to overcome Hollywood’s concerns about such a project. Your knowledge about the genre of films on revolution will undoubtedly also be helpful as you try to sell a Haitian Revolution film. You are free to incorporate other evidence to support your case provided you cite your sources. (It isn’t necessary to include other evidence beyond the material here to earn a 100/100 but I wanted to allow that option for this particular assignment). Direct your essay directly to the Hollywood executives, not to me or this course. Some of the essay will unavoidably entail recounting the story of the Haitian Revolution. When you do this make sure you are STILL MAKING AN ARGUMENT/SALES PITCH rather than just telling executives about the Revolution.
USE SPECIFIC EXAMPLES FROM THE ARTICLES AND DOCUMENTARY TO MAKE YOUR CASE!
