For this assignment you will create an original case study about group communication that emphasizes several aspects of our course modules and topics. The goal is to craft a story that showcases your overall understanding of the dynamics of group communication, and results in an educational resource that could be used by future students of this course. Your case study should: Feature a small group (either professional or civic context) that is facing some sort of key issue that needs a decision or a resolution Involve a number of critical incidents that illustrate key aspects of our course modules (i.e. communication, group development and decision making, difference and diversity, technology), as well as specific topics within those modules NOT resolve the main issues for your characters or indicate any final decisions, but instead should invite readers to consider what they would do if they were in these situations Clearly illustrate key issues from at least two of our learning modules. Incorporate several other subtopics across all the learning modules to help develop your narrative The main narrative of your case study should be 800-1100 words. In addition to the main narrative, your case study should also include the following supplemental materials: A brief summary of each main character and their role in your case (so you can jump right into the story without having to explain each character) 3-5 learning objectives (what your case study is designed to help readers learn and understand) 8-10 key terms with definitions. These should relate to the key aspects of the course material that are illustrated in your case. If the terms arent explicitly mentioned in your narrative, make sure you indicate to readers where in your case study the terms are implied (since case studies are stories they often dont explicitly mention key terms, but rather imply or demonstrate the concept through the critical incidents of the narrative). 3-4 discussion questions for readers to consider
