Choose your own business article that you think describes a dynamic business problem.

Bussiness Vensim model
Overview
This project is meant to be a culmination of all that you have learned about system dynamics, and system dynamics modeling. Choose your own business article that you think describes a dynamic business problem. From that article you need to build a model of the problem and submit an executive summary to me.

Introduction – 1 to 2 paragraphs
Brief overview of article

Problem Articulation

Dynamic Hypothesis – 2 to 3 paragraphs
How did the problem arise (bounded rationality, mental models, policy resistance, path dependence, flawed cognitive maps, etc.?)

Endogenous explanations

Modeling process – 3 to 5 paragraphs
Explanation of causal loops (what is their polarity?)

Model assumptions

Validation methods

Modes of behavior (oscillation, exponential growth, s-shaped growth)

Policy Review – 3 to 5 paragraphs
What are your policy change recommendations?

What is the expected outcome of such changes?

Will these changes cause any unintended consequences?

How long will it take for these policies to become effective (delays)?

Conclusion – 1 to 2 paragraphs

This is the most subjective portion of the assignment and I encourage you to be mindful of your writing style, grammar, etc. If your paper is full of errors, or simply a regurgitation of the article and/or text you will probably not receive a very good grade. There is no specific length requirement, but I imagine you will need about 5 7 pages to sufficiently explain your findings.

Submission
You will need to submit three separate items to me. I want a copy of the article that you are using, the model that you built, and your executive summary. All three items should be submitted in the assignments tab in Learn. Models will not be accepted by any other means.

Why is Brave New World still relevant today? Consider how the World State assigns castes, the conditioning of the citizens, infantilization of the citizens, and constant sedation of citizens in order to maintain a sense of happiness. How can this be related to the world we currently live in?

Choose three of the prompts below:

A: Why is Brave New World still relevant today? Consider how the World State assigns castes, the conditioning of the citizens, infantilization of the citizens, and constant sedation of citizens in order to maintain a sense of happiness. How can this be related to the world we currently live in?

B: Discuss the relationship between religion, science, and political power in the society that exists within “A Brave New World.” What do you think Huxley was trying to get his readers to consider in how he represents these major topics in the novel?

C: Mustapha Mond argues that the changes made to civilization to ensure the happiness of the masses was the right decision, but John “chooses unhappiness” instead. Is the complacency exhibited by the citizens the same as happiness? Should everyone have the right to be awarded the same choice as John? Are the controllers actions unethical, or are they justified?

D: What traits of humanity does John Savage represent in the novel? Or, what tragic irony can be found within John’s character, specifically in relation to Shakespeare?

E. If the assembly line were made by a woman instead of Ford, would she be given the same respect, reverence, and godlike appreciation as Henry Ford? In other words, what roles do women play in this world, and how are they treated?

F. Create your own prompt question and write an essay answering it. Make sure to review it with Megan before you start writing.

* Use literary terms to refer to different aspects of the text when applicable.

* Utilize sources to further support your argument, if needed.

* Proofread, carefully checking for grammatical and surface errors. (Read your essay backwards)

Submit a profile of a serial offender that you will be selecting on your own.

For this assignment, you will submit a profile of a serial offender that you will be selecting on your own. You can choose an offender discussed in the text, online, from other books, or any other resource (at the disclosure of the professor). Once you select your offender, you will:

Discuss if the offender fits the common profile of the serial murder offender. This requires much more than providing a biography of the serial killer.
Apply a typology used in the text and apply it to the offender. In doing so, explain how the offender aligns with the typology.
Discuss how the particular offender’s crimes were solved (if applicable: if they were unresolved, discuss this, too); and the resolution of the case.
Cite sources using APA format. There is no required length for this paper. However, it must be comprehensive and fulfill all necessary requirements.

Is cheating a crime?

Is cheating a crime? If it is not a crime, is it the same as criminal behavior? If you steal someones car it is theft. If you steal someones words, what is it? This discussion is not new but technology has made it easy for students, or anyone, to easily find and use someone elses work. Is cheating in college widespread? What can or should colleges do about it?
Believe it or these questions and a much more detailed discussion about cheating in college has been occurring at CTC and other colleges. Most students dont believe professors know about websites like Course Hero, where it is possible to get all kinds of information on classes, assignments, and answers to test questions. Most students also believe that copying and pasting work from others cant be detected. This may be because they have be able to get away with it in the past. It is precisely that thinking and just being lazy that gets students caught.
The question I put to all of you for your research paper is, what should be done about all of this? What should happen to students who cheat? Look at the act of cheating while considering the concepts we learn in this class about crime, social control, criminological theory, and deterrence. Tell me how all of these things are related or similar and provide some proposed solutions.
