The topic of this summary is black women and their hair. Hair can be a political statement, and Black women have had to struggle with this issue for years and continue to struggle today. When we discuss Black politics, we do not normally think that our appearance can be a political statement or a political detriment. Black hair in particular, makes a statement, draws criticisms, and make others uncomfortable. Since my majors are African American Studies, Sociology with a concentration in Race and Ethnic Studies, and a minor in Political Science, this topic ties in perfectly to what I hope to achieve. My goal is to shed light on the many ways Black women are specifically affected by the political process. I have provided an example of what is required. Please do not use any other form than the template I have provided, as I will have to break down the summary even further after completion.
